How to add wavecard to Apple Pay

Wavecard already works natively with Google Pay, Garmin Pay, and more.
Apple Pay, however, requires extra issuer agreements and certification—so native support will take a bit longer.

Good news: there’s a safe, simple workaround you can use today via Curve.

TL;DR

You can’t add wavecard directly to Apple Wallet yet, but you can:

  1. Add your wavecard to the Curve app, then
  2. Add the Curve proxy card to Apple Wallet.
Important: turn off your VPN before you begin, and when adding your wavecard into Curve use your wavecard pseudonym as the cardholder name and your wavespace account address as the billing address.

Before you start (read this!)

  • Turn off your VPN. Signing up to Curve with a VPN often triggers account blocks and heavy KYC reviews.
  • Use your wavecard pseudonym as the cardholder name. (Exactly as set in your wavecard settings.)
  • Use the address from your wavespace account. This must match or Curve may flag the account.
  • Have your 3-D Secure device nearby. Curve may run a small verification transaction (usually reversed) and ask for 3-D Secure approval.

wave.space is not affiliated with Curve. Curve has its own terms, fees, KYC, and risk checks. Their support can be strict and sometimes slow—so following the steps precisely helps you avoid a support detour.

Step-by-step: Add wavecard to Apple Pay via Curve

  1. Install Curve
Download Curve Pay from the App Store:
    https://apps.apple.com/app/curve-pay-wallet-cashback/id1049397112
  2. Create/Sign in to Curve & add your wavecard
    • Open Curve and choose to add a new card.
    • When asked for cardholder name, enter your wavecard pseudonym (not your legal name).
    • For billing address, enter the address associated with your wavespace account.
    • Complete any verification prompts (Curve may place a small temporary charge and request 3-D Secure).
Why this matters: If name or address don’t match, Curve may block the account and route you into a lengthy support/KYC loop.
  3. Add the Curve proxy card to Apple Wallet
    • After your wavecard is successfully linked, Curve will generate a Curve-branded proxy card.
    • In Curve, tap “Add to Apple Wallet” (or open Apple Wallet and add the Curve card manually).
    • Follow the on-screen steps to finish Apple Pay provisioning.
  4. Set wavecard as the funding card in Curve (optional, recommended)
    • In Curve, make sure your wavecard is selected as the active funding card before you pay.
    • You can switch funding cards in the Curve app anytime.
  5. Pay with Apple Pay as usual
    • Use your iPhone/Apple Watch to tap-to-pay.
    • Curve will route the payment to your wavecard in the background.

Troubleshooting & common pitfalls

  • “Couldn’t add card” in Apple Wallet
Make sure you’re adding the Curve proxy card, not wavecard directly. Apple Wallet will only accept the Curve card in this setup.
  • Curve blocked my account
The most common causes are VPN use, name mismatch (didn’t use pseudonym), or address mismatch (not your wavespace address). Turn off VPN and try again with the correct details. If already blocked, you’ll need to work with Curve’s support.
  • Verification charge declined
Curve may attempt a small authorization. Ensure you can pass 3-D Secure and that any required authorizations aren’t being blocked.
  • 3-D Secure keeps failing
Approve the challenge on the device/account you normally use for card authentication. If you don’t see a prompt, check notifications in your wavespace/wavecard setup.

FAQs

Is this secure?
Yes—Apple Pay tokenization and device-level security still apply. You’re paying with the Curve proxy card, which charges your wavecard as the underlying funding card.

Will there be extra fees?
Curve has a free tier (used by most), but limits, and terms apply to it. Review Curve’s conditions inside their app.

When will native Apple Pay be available for wavecard?
We’re working through Apple’s issuer certification and tokenization process with our partners. We’ll announce it the moment it’s live.

Summary

Until native Apple Pay support is ready, Curve provides a reliable bridge:

  1. Install Curve Pay
  2. Add wavecard to Curve using your pseudonym + wavespace address
  3. Add the Curve proxy card to Apple Wallet
  4. Pay with Apple Pay—funded by your wavecard

If you hit any snags, double-check VPN off, name = pseudonym, and address = wavespace account address.
